Embedded in the Salentine countryside, characterized by olive trees, vineyards, Mediterranean vegetation and just a short distance from the wonderful beaches of the Ionian Sea, lies Masseria Scorcialupi. Previously an old farmhouse, it has been turned into a beautiful country house with 3 independent apartments, which are rented together during the high season, for smaller or larger groups and complete privacy, or also individually during the off-season. Masseria Scorcialupi radiates Apulian charm while being perfectly equipped for a comfortable holiday. Simple everyday objects, like antique gardening tools, have been tastefully transformed into ornamental elements and little pieces of art, which enlighten the already impressive interiors and are a constant reminder of the Masseria’s humble origins. Almost everything seems to have a link to the Apulian soil; with the exception of the latest flat screen televisions which are cleverly hidden behind blue-grey painted doors- a colour traditionally used in this part of Italy. All apartments feature a kitchen, a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a living area with dining table and sofa, which can also become an additional bed. Simplicity and sophistication, past and present, are all in perfect balance. The turquoise sea and lovely beaches are just a leisurely bike ride away and can be reached within a few minutes from here. The property is surrounded by 5 hectares of land and the garden is equipped with romantic daybeds, a wood burning oven and a swimming pool. The spacious verandas offer the perfect setting for a family meal or a romantic dinner, while sunsets can be enjoyed from the upper floor terrace overlooking the garden and a sea of olive trees. During the cooler months of the year, fireplaces replace the heat of summer and create a nice backdrop for cosy evenings after a day of discovering the region or taking walks on the beach. The owners are local to the area and are a great source of advice on where to go and what to do. They are definitely as charming as their Masseria!
