Trullo Duniya feels almost as joyful and carefree as its well-travelled owners, who currently divide their time between 3 different continents. The outcome is an ecletic interior with personal touches, which still manages to make everyone feel at home. Trullo Duniya is low-key and comfortable. Cosy sofas, a very well-equipped kitchen, fireplaces for the cool and air conditioning for the hottest nights all allow for a very relaxing stay.
Trullo Duniya is split into a trullo with a very generous and open plan kitchen, which flows into a dining area and living room. From here a double door leads to the bedroom with 2 single beds which can also be prepared as a double and is served by a small bathroom with shower.
Outside a beautiful rock formation was sculpted into a sofa with cushions while another part of it was turned into a BBQ area. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table, in the shade, right next to it.
On the other side of the square, just a few steps away from the trullo, the lamia is located. In this second building a spacious lounge or entertainment area with sofas, a writing desk, books and a television welcomes you. A flight of stairs up is the double bedroom and opposite the beautiful bathroom. The style is simple with lots of built in concrete furniture painted in white. Quirky details bring bright colours into it: from the cushions to small Indian ornaments to the art on the wall. Highlights are the very generous walk-in closet and the bathroom with bathtub.
Stepping outside again beautiful views open up onto the hilly surroundings covered in ancient olive trees. In particular from the pool, which is slightly elevated, the views reach far and only here and there other trulli cones and rural buildings stand out from the green background.
The setting and location of Trullo Duniya is most certainly one of its’ biggest bonuses. Peaceful and seemingly remote it is actually close to most places of interest: all the towns of the Valle D’Itria (in particular Cisternino and Ostuni) and some beautiful beaches. The views are truly gorgeous and the neighborhood (the house is not completely isolated but absolutely private) is very sought after while somehow remaining rural and true to its roots.
