Trullo Sovrano is a trullo complex in the countryside of Cisternino, just a stonesthrow from amenities and the historic town centre.
When Marco and his family bought the property, the trulli were practically in ruins. A careful study was undertaken on how to bring back the glory of this antique structure –a balancing act between preservation and creating a holiday home with modern comforts. At the helm of the restoration project was the experienced Apulian architect Azzurra Garzone.
Now Trullo Sovrano showcases impressive stone vaulted ceilings with the living room with fireplace at its core. The adjacent kitchen, has equally beautiful ceilings and both together create one big open space living area.
There is lots of light coming in through the large glass windows and doors which lead to the external patio with large dining table and comfortable seating.
Back inside, a hallway leads to the large trulli which houses the master bedroom with double bed. The tones of the master bathroom recall the red colour of the soil, which is so characteristic for this part of Puglia.
From the living room a second corridor leads to two further bedrooms: one for the children, with 2 single beds and another bedroom with double bed. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with shower, kept in the same style as the master bathroom but in different colour palettes.
The swimming pool is a few steps away from the trulli, in a slightly elevated position, close to an olive grove and wooded area with views onto the magnificent trullo structure.
Trullo Sovrano is a perfect holiday home to enjoy as a family with younger or older children or with friends.
