10 magnificent trulli cones appear on the horizon among vast fields and oak trees, in an area that is loosely populated with trulli, old and new.
Via a small country road, we reach the gate that opens to a well-manicured garden. Lovely seating areas welcome us to the front and the back of the trulli but our sight is almost immediately drawn to the saltwater infinity pool, which is generous in size, like the entire property. Next to the pool a large shaded area with built-in sofas invites for some relaxation- especially tempting after a delicious Apulian meal prepared in the fully equipped outside kitchen and served among the shade of the dry stone walls.
The interiors of the trulli are unusually generous in size and filled with light- they appear almost modern, despite their ancient shell. The natural materials- wood, iron, stone and lime paint add to this sensation and so do the furnishings, which are bespoke or antique and were wisely chosen.
During the restoration the original layout had to be widely respected, resulting in two double bedrooms (one with an additional sofa bed) and their ensuite bathrooms only being accessible from the outside. The main part of the structure contains a sizeable living area with a stunning fireplace, cosy sofas and a television, a nice kitchen, bathroom with shower, a double bedroom and a walk-through-area with day bed and alcove with 2 possible single beds leading up to the bedroom (this space is ideal when travelling with younger children).
A great bonus to this location is a minimarket in walkable distance and a nearby walking and cycling trail leading through the Valle D’Itria.
Trullo Tempesta is a great option for friends and family travelling together and is ideally set up to spend time together but also some moments apart.
